Topaz is a mineral species that can be found in many different colors, ranging from sunny yellow to peachy-orange, including colorless. Topaz displaying bright red flashes are known in the trade as imperial topaz because they were favored by Russian Czars after being discovered in the Ural mountains. Pakistan is the only source for naturally occurring pink topaz, while most topaz comes from the region of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
